Menopause-Topamax-Amitriptaline-Natural Herbs- Bad Combo?!

I can't seem to understand why my girlfriend is having an interaction with her medication and the natural herb Maca Root and Hot flash herbal vitamins. She is waking up and hard to breathe, her left side of her body is tight and tingling. (Not in a good way), believe me I asked! She takes Topamax for her Chiari, she takes Amitriptaline for IBS, which is also for anti depressant. I also ordered this female libido which is all natural, but contains Maca Root. I'm trying to understand if it's in her head, or is she really having a bad interaction. I was about to call 911 last night cuz I am concerned, but she didn't want me to. So is there anyone that can tell me what it is she is having? Also, the stuff I ordered has L-Arginine, Cotton Root, Goat Weed Leaf, Tribulus Seed, Damiana Aerial Parts, Mucuna Seed, Muira Pauma Root, and Pine Bark Extract. That's the ones she hasn't had yet except for Maca, but the one she took for Hot flashes has, Black Cohosh, Chasteberry, Dong Quai, Gamma Oryzanol, Hesperidin. That's all she is taking. So I don't know why she is having these interactions.

Topamax and Amitriptaline are pretty powerful drugs and, typically, should not be mixed with a lot of other things... Just because something is "all natural" doesn't mean it won't have side effects or interact with prescription medications.  Many "natural" substances are just as potent as pharmaceuticals.

You should always consult a doctor before mixing drugs such as Topamax or anti-depressants with such things as you've ordered for your girlfriend.

I don't know how anyone could reliably determine if she is having a reaction to the mix of those or not, but my question is who determined that she needed the Topamax, Amtriptyline and now Maca Root and hot flash herbal vitamins?  Also, it wasn't clear.  Is she taking all those other supplements?  If so, why would you think she needs all those?  Personally I'd be very leery of taking what you ordered.  Last for now, why did you post on a Thyroid Forum?  Has she been previously evaluated for thyroid issues?
