My Moms thyroid problems

February 2, 2009 my mom and i gone to see doctor coz saw lump on her neck and also my grandmother who is complaining about her stomach getting bigger back pain etc. Sad to say April 3rd my grandmother died and during those times i was so emotional dont have money to have proper medication. And now my mother is sick too  Her laboratory result on serology was eia-tsh is 21.3 unit uiu/ml reference 0.4-6.0 uiu/ml; eia-t4 10.6 ug/dl 4.8-12 ug/dl. Neck examination ultrasound details: The right lobe measures 6.1x 1.9x2.5cms ( Lx APxW) while the left lobe measures 6.0x 2.3x2.4 cms. Echo pattern is heterogenous with increased parenchymal reflectivity.

Several round and ovoid hypoechoic solid structures with well defined margin area seen scattered in the entire right lobe and isthmus the largest of which measures 1.0 cm in diameter.  Large ovoid hyperechoic solid structure with thin echopenic rim is seen in the left lobe measuring 3.1x2.3x2.6cms. Smaller similar foci are seen in the upper pole of the same lobe measuring 1.4x0.9cm and 0.5x0.49cm. Isthmus is thickened.

Impression: thyromegaly with diffused paranchymal changes and nodular configuration. Thickened isthmus.  Subcentimeter hypoechoic nodules, cysts in both lobes. Hypoechoid solid nodules/cysts in the left lobe. large hyperechoic solid mass. Leff lobe suggest tissue correlation.  Mom said that she experiencing neck, ear and head pain, sometimes before dark vision long ago, and lately she states its like her eyeball are pulling inwards.  Coz of financial problems we ask the doctor if can be cured with medication and gave us lexo something i forgot the name and calcium. Kindly advise me for  i dont know what to do. thinking about her condition leaves me so depressed and helpless.

Hello,

I am so sorry for your loss earlier this year and also that you mom has some thyroid issues.  Welcome to our community -- I am not sure reading the reports that I can lend a hand but wanted to stop by and say hello!
