Please give us a little more understanding than that. Just because you did not receive an immediate response does not mean we don't care. We all care very much. That's why we are here in the first place.
We are all volunteers here. We are people like yourself, who have gone through difficult experiences because of thyroid problems. We participate because we want to help other members avoid as much anxiety and discomfort as possible. Most of our members are working full time and have to find those extra minutes to help with the Forum. Many live in other parts of the world and are sleeping when you are looking for a quick response. Sometimes members will defer and wait for other members with more experience related to your post, to respond. I'm sure you are anxious but have a little patience with us please.
I posted for help too and never had reply!! X
I have no experience with Graves, so I'm not sure what coming off the medication means longer term, but I do know that your current thyroid hormone levels (FT3 and FT4) are low in their ranges, which frequently results in hypo symptoms. Many of our members report that symptom relief for them required that FT3 was adjusted into the upper part of its range and FT4 adjusted to at least midpoint. Obviously your iron is too low. Since many people with hypo symptoms also have low Vitamin D, I would suggest that you have that tested as well.
In my opinion the best way to treat hypothyroidism is to test and adjust levels of the actual biologically active thyroid hormones, free T3 and free T4, with whatever type of meds are necessary to relieve symptoms, without being constrained by resultant TSH levels. Finding a good thyroid doctor that will treat you in this manner, rather than just by TSH level can be difficult, especially in the UK. Please let us know about your progress.
The last few times I have posted I haven't gotten much response either. It depends on the time of day you post and the day of the week I think. It's upsetting when you really want help, but it is not you! I also have low iron and ferritin and I know it took weeks for it to go up. When it did finally improve I felt so much better. I also had very low vitamin D, and the supplements helped also. I'm not that up on thryoid levels, so can't really comment. If you don't get much response, try posting at a different time of day. :)
Do I come across as aggressive or something?
The last 2-3 times I've really needed help and posted on this site I've never even had one reply.
The site name should be changed from medhelp to medignore.
Cheers everyone.
