OT Ouch!

Swam in the ocean and think I've been stung by a jellyfish.  It really burns.  But I don't know if it's more intense because of my medical issues/medications, or what?

Maybe I'll check to see if there's a skin forum above.

Boy, I'm just so in a different place than I used to be.  But then again, it's okay because at least I'm here and able.

BTW - Yesterday was my two year anniversary for surgery.

Enjoy!  (...oh, those fishes are crazies...)

I do get it.  I am familiar enough with ancient medicine to know what your getting at there.  I still have these welts that are burning, so today looks like another day of applying remedies.  At this point, I think it's going to include the one you mention - I'm deparate!

Thanks.

Thank you everyone!

I’m working on all the remedies you suggest.  At this point I’m somewhere between a streak-free shine and a biggggg salad.

It’s still painful but I do think it’s healing.

ChitChatNine – It was actually the Rhode Island variety and, oh boy, they are abundant!

Take care all

any ammonia (sp?) will take the bite out.

Reminds me of an episode of Friends were Monica got stung and Chandler had to well..... potty on her leg

LOL

but seriously the windex is a great antidote too.

Thyfriend - what will we do with ya?

The reason Windex works is because it contains vinegar.  I live in Florida and the lifeguards all carry vinegar to put on jellyfish bites.  You can mix up a combo of vinegar and water in a spray bottle and spray it on to take the sting away.  Of course, the sting usually comes back after a while!  Hate those Port. man o' wars!

SPRAY SOME WINDEX ON IT!  - Ok - that makes me think of "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" every time I suggest it but it works for ant bites and jellyfish stings -- too bad I did not know that before I went to Florida as the hubby got stung.  (BTW - I was mad at him at that moment anyway so it was kind of fitting he got stung! --- but then again, I AM a little evil)! :)  Anyway, try the windex.

MEAT TENDERIZER is the thing to put on it.

When I was 8 yrs old, my family had just moved from New Jersey to Miami. We went to the beach and stupid me, I picked up a Portugese Man o' War. The jelly was all stuck to my fingers.  Man, that stung really bad.  After the pain was gone, my index finger would itch like crazy.  This was 32 yrs ago, and still to this day, every once in a while, I get an itch on my index finger.  That's nuts, huh?

Feel better.
