I agree, get a copy of your son's labs - heck you can even post them here and sometimes a doc. will look at them. I have posted mine, and gotten a response from one of the forum docs. And even if a doc. doesn't respond most of the people in these forums are very familiar with blood work - you'd be surprised.
You may also want to ask your doc. about getting an ultrasound of your sons thyroid to rule out nodules, or tumors.
You may even want to consider seeing a rhuematologist or endocrinologist, or even make an appt at your nearest children's hospital. I'm not trying to alarm you. This may not be serious at all. But when it comes to your kids it is ok to panic a little and get the best help possible.
Good luck to ya
Get those labs and don't take NO for an answer. That is the first golden rule here. Get them.
OK extremely low I assume Hyper from your post. If this is correct you do need to pay special attention to what going on.
CALL that office tomorrow and get ALL the labs done and post them.
It is about my son, he is 9 years old. The doctor would not give me the numbers. He said, "His thyroid levels came back abnormally low". He then said, "They are extremely low, I want to retest". I don't think retesting is going to give out something different. If it is low it is low. My mom and sister have low thyroid. I just found out yesterday that I do too. My son's and mine may not be hereditary, ours could be from something else, though. I am very scared.
OK - you sound distressed.
Who's "He" ..............
You can't neglect your health for another - but you CAN pay attention to BOTh of them together.
It sounds like your interpretation of "low Thyroid" may mean Low blood levels on the test for thyroid function - is that correct?
What is the TSH lab test number you have to reference us to?
In the shape your post sounds I don't feel comfortable assuming anything until you post the lab numbers.
