My two daughters carry Benadryl strips with them (melt in your mouth) and also Epi Pens .... oral steroids are given by docs, too.

Benadryl topical cream helps somewhat, but not when bad.

I take benadryl and carry an epi-pen in case it gets really bad since I'm also allergic to soy.

I get them bad and ended up in the hospital, I take benadryl the liquid  {Dr said that works faster then the tablets.} If I start to get one or two then I start taking the liquid and usually take another dose about 2hrs. from the first dose. I notice its worst right before the time of mo. something linked to the hormones, also get if I have gone into hyperthyroid. If I don't wait too long after the first couple come out I can get control over it if I start the benadryl.
