I have hypothyroidism as well and my levels are considered normal, but I still have symptoms I did an antiobodie test and that is normal as well. Can the RA reflect antiboidies from the thyroid?? or is it possible to have normal hypothyroidism with a positive RA factor?
This may mean nothing at all. Symptoms and other labs along with RF help with a diagnosis. As mentioned ,a small % will have no diseases associated with RF.
So what does it mean? I think I was tested for all the other things as well and they're negaitve
I am hypothyroid due to having a TT and recently I have been ith diagnosed wRA after i convinced my gp to run tests for lupus. I was referred to a reumatologist due to a positive factor. My reumatologist conducted tests and it was positive for RA and i also had symptoms.
High Rheumatoid Factor (RF) levels in the blood can indicate rheumatoid arthritis however this can also show up with other connective connective tissue diseases (eg: sjogren's syndrome, systemic lupus erythematosus, mixed connective tissue disease), some infectious diseases (eg: infectious hepatitis, mononucleosis, parasites, tuberculosis), liver disease, and sarcoidosis. Occasionally RF is found in healthy people without disease although this occurs more frequently in there are family members who have rheumatoid arthritis.
