I had two surgeries for thyroid too. Not much fun. I didn't have migraines with the LID or RAI but did have massive ones when I had my ovary removed. Hormone related is what the docs said. It would make perfect sense to me that such a sudden change in thyroid hormones could give someone a migraine. Imitrex and Lortab is the only thing that worked on mine.
Thank you soooo much! You start to wonder if you'll ever feel normal again -- truly before the cancer diagnosis, even though I was on thyroid hormone for a very very long time, I felt great! Yes, you are also right, I do feel like c r a p all the time and the nausea has been terrible too so tomorrow I get the anti-nausea and the RAI at end of week so there is a light, be it faint, at the end of this tunnel.
Thank you again for the info and I am glad you seem to be fine now too!
I didn't have migraines during that time, but had a headache every day. I had to take tylenol around the clock, and it didn't always take it completely away. The worst part for me was the nausea. Ugh. It was SO bad for weeks!! I ended up calling and getting a prescription for an anti-nausea medication, which I also took around the clock. My TSH was 131 the Thursday before my RAI, then by Monday it had risen to 145. You'll be fine, you just feel like c r a p for a while until you get back on the meds.
