Unfortunately I don't know of a source for Armour Thyroid in India.  My info is for a pharmacy in Canada from which it can be ordered, if you have a prescription.  I think your best alternative would be to get your doctor to give you a script for a large quantity to take with you and take care of you at least for a while.  If you going to stay long enough to need additional, then ask for another script that you could use to order from the source in Canada, which I will provide you, if needed.

Actually, rather than decreasing your dosage, I think you need to increase it.  I expect that you reacted that way because of your TSH level.  Be aware that many hypo patients taking thyroid meds find that their TSH becomes suppressed below range.  That does not mean you have become hyperthyroid, unless you do have hyper symptoms, due to excessive levels of Free T3 and Free T4, which is not the case.   For example my own TSH ahs been about .05 or less for well over 25 years without ever having hyper symptoms.  Also, many members say that relief from hypo symptoms required Free T3 in the upper part of its range and Free T4 around the middle of its range.  So you can see why I think you need to increase your dose, not decrease.

As for you ferritin, unless you are supplementing with iron, I would suggest that you should follow up on that ferritin test by also getting a complete iron test panel, which includes serum iron,  TIBC and % transferrin saturation.  I say that because your ferritin is higher than I would expect, and you should do the iron panel to investigate further.

Hi Gimel, I got back my test results. Ferritin is 118.57 ng/mL so definitely midrange. Free t3 is 3.12 pg/mL (1.4 to 4.4 is the range). Free t4 is 1.18 (0.8 to 1.8) and tsh is now 0.38 (range is 0.45 to 4.5) so definitely need to ask endocrinologist to decrease my dose of thyronorm from the 100mg dosage.

My hair started falling out a lot once I started thyronorm. Quality improved (it had become straw like and easily knotted) with evening primrose oil 2 gms a day but it is still falling. Do you recommend anything else? Thanks.

I should have gone further and mentioned that if your hair is still falling out, it may be that your meds need to be increased.  TSH does not cause symptoms.  Symptoms correlate best with Free T4.  If you have not been tested for Free T3 and Free T4, you should make sure to get those done each time you go in for tests.  Many of our members say that symptom relief required Free T3 in the upper part of its range and Free T4 around the middle of its range.

Since you mention your hair falling out, you also should test for ferritin (iron).  For women ferritin should be around 80 minimum for best results.  Ferritin is also important to metabolize thyroid hormone.  Since hypo patients are also frequently too low in the ranges for Vitamin D and B12, you should also get those tested.  D is best around the middle of its range and B12 should be in the upper end of its range.
