Results after completion thyroidectomy due to Follicular cancer

Hi guys.

I just had my completion left hemithyroidectomy a week ago after finding a 2cm follicular carcinoma on my first right hemithyroidectomy.

I just got my pathology results from this and am quite confused by the conclusion.  My surgeon said to me I should discuss it more with my new endocrinologist, but she says that it was fine otherwise, here are the results:

Left hemithyroid: The 8mm diameter superior pole nodule shows tall staining eosinophilic (oncocytic) columnar cells forming crowded follicular formations, cystic spaces and pseudo-papillary arrangements.  A Thin outer fibrous pseudo-capsule is present, with no obvious lympho-vascular or capsular invasion, and the appearance would favour Hurthle cell adenoma.  Nuclei are rounded with small but prominent nucleoli, and fairly evenly spaced, and the appearances are not typical of thyroid papillary carcinoma.
The remaining parenchyma shows some patchy mild (to moderate) chronic inflammatory change with lympho-histiocytic cells, and some parenchymal atrophy, most obvious at the isthmic margin.

Conclusion:
HURTHLE CELL ADENOMA - 8MM
CHRONIC INFLAMMATORY CHANGE.

Sorry I know thats long, but what the hell is chronic inflammatory change? and just after having a Follicular carcinoma, what are the chances of having a Hurthle Cell adenoma? Could that have become malignant as well eventually?
If anyone has had a similar thing, please let me know.  I'm really confused about all of this and I don't follow up with an endocrinologist for 2-3 weeks.

Thanks

Thanks laura :)

I should also mention throughout this whole process, all thyroid function tests have been normal, no hypothyroidism.
