Should I be concerned - based on thyroid sonogram info?

Thyroid sonogram states the following:  Gland very enlarged and heterogeneous in echotexture. Rt lobe measures 9.4 x 4.3 x 4.2 cm.   Multiple nodules present.  There is a nodule in the rt upper pole and measures 2.7 cm in greatest diameter.  There is also a 2.7 cm x 3 cm nodule in the lower pole of the rt lobe.

The left lobe measures 8.4 x 3.6 x 3.2 cm.  The 2 largest nodules in the left lobe measure 1.3 cm in the mid pole and 2.3 cm in the lower pole.

Impression:  Enlarged, heterogeneous thyroid gland with multiple nodules consistent with multinodular goiter.

Is this pretty uneventful ?
Thanks .....

Thank you both for your responses.   My PCP has been monitoring my thyroid situation for quite a few years now.  Thyroid has been functioning normally.  It's just that it has grown over the last year.  This is the 1st time that the dr. reading the scan results referred to thyroid as gland being very enlarged.  Got my report in before next meeting with PCP - and I had been curious as to whether the nodule sizes were now of any significance.  Based on both your responses, I will certainly make it a point to discuss with my PCP in November....
I'm new to this Forum - so I will be doing much reading here to learn what I can.
Again - my gratitude to both of you for your responses....!

Those are some pretty big lobes....most are around 4 1/2 cm in length.  I agree with the above comment; your nodules are of the size where they should be biopsied to ensure they are benign.  Have you had blood work done?  What is your TSH, FT3 and FT4?  Any symptoms  you are experiencing.  There are many great people on this site that have experience they can share!

I was given the same diagnosis back in 07', the next step is to have a fna (fine needle aspiration) to draw out fluid from the nodule and have it tested. Because your nodules are pretty big, it causes a bit of concern. The procedure is to detect any abnormal cells within the thyroid nodule. Although most nodules are benign, some are not which is why it is important to find out. In my case, I have been recommended to have surgery based on some abnormal cells in the nodule but have done lots of research prior to making a decision. May God Bless you and you will definitely be fine. Lots of people are in the same boat.
