Interpreting blood test results

Hi I am 20 years old, female, and I have symptoms of having hypothyroidism.
My blood test results: FreeT4:  13.28 pmol/l   and  TSH: 1.81 uIU/mL
Do I really have hypothyroidism?

Thank you very much for your response.

the normal range  indicated for Free T4 is 11.5 - 23 pmol/L

I never had any medications before. I am not sure if I have Hashimoto's. Again, thanks for finding time to reply

TSH is not out of range but it is a pituitary hormone, NOT a thyroid hormone, so not always reliable.

Please post reference ranges for FT4. I am not used to those values. Are you sure it's not 1.38?

Most cases of hypothyroidism in developed countries (90 percent) are caused by Hashimoto's. If you've had breast cancer and radiation near the thyroid, then you have a chance of being hypo, otherwise, look to Hashimoto's. If you really want to know, then get the TGab and TPOab antibody tests for Hashimoto's. The problem with Hashi is that our FT4 and TSH levels swing back and forth from high, to low, to normal, so those tests aren't always reliable.

If you do have Hashi, then make sure your doc treats your FT4 and FT3 levels, not TSH.
