Strange question on salivary glands!

Hi all - I have had a strange feeling down the left side of my tongue for several weeks now.  It feels rough and dry - like theres not enough saliva on that side and like I had something lodged at the very back down where it meets the teeth. It feels like my tongue is slightly swollen on the left.  There are no marks or anything unusual on the tongue itself just this constant strange feeling. My tongue keeps flicking around as if I need to dislodge something or coat it in saliva - it is driving me nuts.
I am on the Thyroxine 25mcgs but this feeling started a week a couple of weeks before I began the meds.
I had a PT on left side 6 months ago and MCP found.  I had a radio iodine uptake scan which showed no further problems and I have had no treatment - just being monitored regularly.
Could there be something wrong with my salivarySalivary gland tumors glands?

Yes do a scan as Stella told you, dentists (not all) don't know much about salivary glands.....

thanks for your comments - no pain or swelling.  Just a dry feeling down left side of tongue and feel as if 'something' is irritating the tongue and salicary glans area.
I have now seen Doc and he has advised get my dentist to look further - Doc said all looked ok so he was a bit confused.  Hopefully I'll get some kind of scan done.
Thanks again

I sounds like you have some inflammation or something going on with the glands.

Was there a US done?

Do you have any other symptoms?  Any pain while eating or after eating? Any swelling after eating? Any pain under jaw line?

I had an infected submandibular gland that had to be taken out due to sialenditis. Mine started with constant spitting and a weird feeling of tongue, almost like a scalded feeling.
