Thank you ladies! I feel much better now :).
After searching "Hurthle cells" I was convinced they should have taken the whole thing. My surgery was done by a surgical oncologist, so I guess I should trust him...LOL. But a pathology report and the internet can be a dangerous thing.
When I went for labs on Wednesday, he said he would see me in 6 months, if he does not order an US- I will definitely ask for one.
You have both been very helpful and have eased my mind- Thank you!
Michelle
In my case I had two follicular adenomas removed and elsewhere in the gland they found two micro tumors which were papillary microcarinomas. I'm not a Dr but sounds like you are in good shape since they've taken out that half. Maybe ask for serial ultrasounds on the other side every 6mos and then every year to be certain there are no changes. That's what they do with me on the other side .. I have a 4.0mm stable nodule on the other side but they think it's an adenoma like the other two.

Hi, I can understand your nervousness. I had Hurthle Cells in my FNA. So I know where you are at. You have had a non-cancerous tumour and it had changes indicative of Hurthle Cells but they were not in abundance. So, you can rest assured you do not have cancer.
That dreaded C word come up all the time when doing research for Hurthle Cells.
But you are one of the lucky ones, so to speak!
Cheers!
