Synthroid or TSH or both

Could your synthroid make you feel bad?  I ache from head to toe, can't think, all I want to do is sleep, no energy, extremely bad menstrual flow, weak arms and legs.  My last TSH test was 3.533 and that was four weeks after a doseage change from 100 - 125 mcg.  I don't know what to do!!  I don't have a endo at this time.  Not one that I like or care to go back too.

Help!!!!!  I didn't feel this bad before the TT but I didn't feel good but atleast I knew what to expect on how I was feeling before.  I just feel like I'm walking around in a daze...numb!!

Thank you for your comment.
I haven't been feeling well these days.
Went to the doctor's again asked if he can increase my dose of levothyroxine (I'm actually on 50mcrg) He said it could harm me if I keep increasing doses.
I explained that I'm exausted  again every part of my body hurt; joints muscles etc...
plus the fact that i get up in the morning and easily go to sleep again. my metabolism is so slow
systolic 90 - diastolic 43 - heart beat 56 that surely can't be right.
And you know what he said? he told me that he ran a lot of test on me and that my tiredness is not caused by any medical reason.
I really don't know what to do.

so i took another blood test again for thyroid on monday and hopefully i'll have the result on friday.

Thanks again for your comment .

Hi,

After reading some of the comments, I don't feel totally crazy.  I was on Armour for 40 years with not one problem, but in Dec 2007 I started with heart palpitations and feeling bad and after 4 dosage decreases, I was switched mid-March to Synthroid.  I have felt awful since and basically am almost house bound.  I feel like I am dying most of the time - just terrible - exhausted, burning muscles, flu-like, rather lightheaded.  I have been on .50 mcg, 75 mcg and now .88 mcg and feel no better.  See my endo May 21st, and I hope he can do something.  Guess I am not the only one.  Good luck to all.

My neck soreness now I believe is from embarrassingly ------ my posture. I think I slouch at my computer all day and don't get enough stretch time.

When I exercise my neck feels better. As I slouch here writing this!!!

Correct posture.- I teel myself. "Just like a normal person"

Welcome.  I am new here too, and feel the same way.  Yes, it is good to know that you are not alone.  It is tough because people around me don't understand.  My husband doesn't believe that I am sick, and he thinks that I have now become a burden to the family because I have suddenly become so lazy.  I guess I can't blame him because I look fine, fat in fact, but all body parts attached, no blood.  It is sad.  I am in the process of finding another doctor - the center that I found so far doesn't not accept me without a doctor referal from the same hospital.  I am also starting to take a whole range of suppliments.  I think the body has an ability to heal itself - I just wish I have a support system...  It is hard to drag to work everyday and come home taking care of 2 young kids...  At least on here, I can see that there are many others like me, and everyone is trying to seek solutions - and there are positive news.  That's where I hang my hope...

I just joined this website and forumn and I am glad I did. I too am on synthroid, only 88mg, but I have not lost any weight, I am stressed and jittery al the time and as you all have experienced, Body aches so severe I take 800mg of Ibuphrophen. Which now that has caused me to develope an ulser. It is so good to know I am not the only one. I am going to talk to my doctor about Armour. Thanks for this forumn and I will be on here regularly until I get the right help. Good luck to all you ladies!

I also felt HORRIBLE on synthroid!!!  I have been on armour for 2 weeks now and I already feel like a new person!  I was depressed, withdrawn, hair falling our,  (dry and brittle too) swollen in face and eyes, and I had 0 energy and focus!!  I thought all along this was how I was going to feel after TT, but I have found out recently my life can be wonderful on armour!!!  I also had lots of aches and pains in muscles!!  I feel for you and I hope you feel better soon!

I think it was b/c of hypoT

As I lower my TSH to aches and pains are leaving me.

Stella, is your neck soreness from the medication?  I have been having a killing pain on my left shoulder and neck the last few days, and been thinking that it is probably because of how I sleep.  I'm on Synthroid, feeling horrible everyday...

Synthroid sometimes isn't the right choice for all - I felt as though a truck hit me every day - It took quite a while but after a month on Armour and now near euthyroid - I don't have those aches any longer -

Just neck soreness - but not as severe as it was.

I totally think its your meds. Maybe too little?? I everyone says that its TAKES AWHILE for the Synthroid to settle, but come on. How long can one live like this?? I'm here for ya.

Again, ask to have your adrenals tested too!!!!
