Synthroid

My doctor changed my Synthroid dosage from 100 mcg once a day to 112 mcg SIX days a week.  Has anyone ever heard of skipping a day of Synthroid?  Also, are there any insights as to why a doctor would make this change?   Thanks for your time.

Thank you for the info.  I have been finding out that it is normal to alternate doses so I feel better about it now.  My TSH went up to 18.97, so I'm thinking I should be on the higher dose all 7 days.  I'll have to ask her about that when I go in next.  Good luck with your regimen.

It's pretty normal to skip a dose or to alternate dosages. I currently take 137 mcg 4 days a week and 125 the other 3.  Prior to this I was on 125 6 days a week and my TSH started to creep up and I started feeling really bad hypo symptoms.  My doc said that rather than thinking of it as a single dose, add it up for the week. You went from taking 700 mcg a week to 672 mcg a week. Not really a significant change. I won't sit here and pretend to know what all the lab numbers mean because when I get mine I ask for help. But, maybe if you posted your latest labs someone on here could tell you why he decreased it such a small amount.
