TSH & loosing weight

Hello,
Thank you in advance for answering my questions. This web sit has helped me a great deal.
What is the ideal TSH level for patients with Hashimoto's disease?
I have taken various medcations in the last 3 months. Currently taking 100mg Synthroid.
My TSH is now 5.3, T-4 1.0 T-3 340 & the scale will not budge. It is difficult for me as I'm sure some of you have experienced. Will that change when my levels are in check?
Best regards,

TSH of 5.3 is a little high and still in the hypo stage of thyroid disease. That will make it difficult for you to lose weight. There is the belief that at 1.0 or under is the ideal for Hashimoto's. You may well need to go up to 125mcgs or more of your Synthroid. How long have you been on 100mcgs? If only a short time, it may not be enough time yet to show any lower TSH. If it has been a fair while I would suggest getting a higher dose and see how you go.
Sadly there is no quick fix...I am 10 months on and still getting the dose right for me, yet my sister in law, is perfect at 100mcgs! So each of us are different.
Good luck!
