Teenager with thyroid disease?

My daughter is 17 now and has had many strange symptoms for a few years.

fatigue
shooting pains in leg muscles
heat intolerance
mild temor in hands at times
tingling sensation on back

Her father has MS so she was examined by a neuro last year and MRI's of brain and C-spine were done w/wo contrast.  Her MRI's were clear.  After reading about thyroid disease I began to wander if this is what she has.  She also has the following symptoms:

Hair loss
brittle toenails (lots of strange cracks on them)
cold intolerance
dry skin
dry eyes
dry mouth
Irregular periods
Recently a painful muscle spasm in leg and severe pain in left elbow (right-handed child) both immed. upon waking
A couple of bouts of depression

Also as a young child, she was taller than her peers, but as a teen, she stopped growing at 5'4".  Maybe it means nothing, but her father and I are taller than average.  She seemed to put on weight over the last few years in spite of a healthy diet, moderate exercise and generally not overeating.

Also, my mother has rheumatoid arthritis and my sister has either hypo or hyperthyroidism.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.  I have lost many hours of sleep worrying about my daughter.

Thanks for your comment.  I mistakenly thought I was posting a question to the doctor.  I am going to take her very soon.  I would be thrilled if her results were positive for thyroid issues compared to what I have been thinking for the last few years.

Take all this information with you to an endo. who deals with many thyroid patients per year and have her tested for thyroid.  That is the only way you are going to know if she and her symptoms are thyroid.

Then we are here for follow up questions.

Good luck
