Test results and symptoms

Recent thyroid test results - TSH 0.004 - T4 10.8 - T3 28. I have unexplained weight gain, memory loss (that is starting to concern me!), tired most of the time, dry skin, puffyness under eyes unless I take a daily water pill (doesn't always help), muscle/joint aches & pain, very low libido, thinning hair, feet are ususally cold but I am 'hot' all the time, seldom perspire unless humidity is high. I am 55yrs old, taken Armour thyroid for 2yrs for low thyroid, was dx with skin Sarcodosis 6yrs ago, complete hystorectomy 20yrs ago. I would appreciate your opinion on my dx and symptoms.

Yes, that is the correct test results. (TSH - 0.004; Thyroxine (T4) - 10.8; T3 Uptake - 28; Free Thyroxine Index - 3.0)  I will ask him about doing a FT-4 test. I thought most people that were hyper would see weight loss instead of weight gain??

Before I answer you, is that the correct T-3 level?  Would  liked to see a FT-4 done, which is a better indicator of thyroid status. Certain issues can interfere with the T levels which don't interferer with the FT levels.

According to your TSH level, you seem to be hyperthyroid.  What does you doctor say about this?  You should probably talk to him about lowering your dosage of armour.  Have you been to an endocrinologist?
