thanks for posting. I guess there must be so many variables that need to be taken into account. The thing is - my thyroid is still failing! So goodness knows why i need to be on the dose i am in comparison to my weight and still not feel well.
A Kilo is 2.2 pounds.
After pounding on the calculator for a while, I came up with 104.3mcg (at 135 pounds). I'm taking 88mcg, and my Endo keeps expecting me to go to 100mcg.
It probably will go up when I resume a normal level of activity. It may be fairly acurate for me.
I think 1.7mcg/kg is a rule of thumb starting point. It may be true for some, but not all. There are too many variables for it to be that simple.
That is also a figure based on a person with no thyroid activity, I think. You people who have a thyroid contributing to the mix screw up the formula.
The interesting thing is, I have been on doses up to 125mcg when I first started having problems, and my thyroid was putting out at that time. So why did I need so much?
Sustained physical activity, I think, but I really don't know. I'm still trying to figure out how my body is supposed to keep up on a metered dose of hormones when my activity level changes from day to day, or used to.
When I get back to work will my doseage requirement change?
That's ONE thing I'm still trying to figure out.
