Hi McMillan,
No I'm not on any thryoid meds since my bloodwork was considered normal the second time around. I'll try the caffeine tip. Let me know if you come up wth anything that works and I'll also let you know if I do.

Hi oscarmaya, Are you on any anti thyroid medication ? I too have pain in the neck left side radiating form below the clavicle up to my ear and is very annoying. Also have hoarseness etc. I thought maybe it was form the anti thyroid drug Methimazole that I am on because the pain and hoarseness etc, did not seem this bad before I was taking it. I know one of the side effects of Methimazole is "sore throat" but I seem to have the pain (probably from the nodules) in my neck up to my ears like you.
I think sometimes they give this medication to people that are due to have thyroid surgery if their thyroid is hyper.
I hope other people will answer you, for their benefit in understanding your questions you have several nodules in both sides of your thyroid if I remember correctly. In my case I too have several nodules but mine are toxic and not solid. Neck pain symptoms seem to be the same.
I have found that cough drops help the hoarseness a bit. I have not found any good fix for the neck to ear pain. I have tried aspirin, Tylenol antihistamine etc, and none of that seems to help. I do seem to have the pain more if I drink coffee or have anything with caffeine, you might try to cut down on that and see if ti helps.
I am glad you asked the question.
McMillan
