I found during the time I took Synthroid (T4) I had a change in my voice. I totally relate to the scratchy sexy voice stuff. I also found that during my transition to Armour (until I started to stabilize) I had that also.
I think the voice is more of a reaction to hypothyroidism more so then the meds - not sure - but I seemed to regain my voice after I became euthyroid.
Hypothyroidism has a nasty symptom of inflammation. Whether the body swells outward or internal most patients suffer some degree of it.
I swell more internally than outward. I get throat and upper chest inflammation when I start to fall hypo. Due to the inflammation I also believe I commonly feel like I am getting cold/virus/asthma symptoms when my thyroid "falls off the wagon". LOL
I've had more chest coughs and teeth infections since I had my thyroid OUT than I had prior when I was hypo...I know my Hashi's is still active and that is more than likely the cause of my ills. I'd say you are coming down with something. Since I got here to USA a week ago, seems everyone is coming down with a sore throat. MInd you back home so is everyone there!
I sometimes get tablets stuck in my throat too. Even with a glass of water.. I find having the larger ones with a bit of yoghurt easier to swallow than having it stick to the side of my esophagus. Maybe you could try that?
I can't answer the other 2 questions you asked...sorry!
Cheers!
Sorry. I had a TT about 14 yrs ago, so I can not say if it is thyroid related. I did not have those symptoms when i had problems with my thyroid, when i did have throat issues it was usually strep or sinus infections, or oral thrush.
Sorry, not much help.
Oh goodness yes, dear. Many a time. Just wondering if anyone else had had these problems as fellow hypo/hashi's.
Have you been to the doctor? It could be many things. What has been ruled out?
AR-10, is usually good at these things.
Wanted to pop this back up the list to see if I could muster up some answers?
Thanks!
