What should a doctor do if 2nd generation TSH comes in way above average, the they do a third generation test and it comes within normal ranges in a child???

I just join the forum, I have read things here that answer questions I have had for many years. Spinal injury and back and neck operations, have opened the door for many problems. When my neuro tells me that the problem I am having at that time should not be related to my injury; I questioned his judgment. I have found more answers in 2 days of reading than 16 years of treatment by the best neuro's known. The statement "Thyroid skips a generation" is very false. My mother had her gland removed, her mother the same. I am one of four children in ages from 59 to 37 years. Oldest is severely over weight and suffers of thyroid problems. next one is 55 and height to weight is normal, I am 6-4 and 275 lbs. Over weight by 30 to 40 lbs. 37 year old is skinny and full of energy, he is half brother. Each are treated for same.
Mom's sister has same, her children have the problem. and her grand children show signs of same.
Thanks for sharing.

I'm not exactly sure what your question is. But I am 18 years old and I was diagnosed when I was 13 with hypothyroidism. It was passed on to me from my grandmother and we were told that the disease skips a generation. Don't know if this information helped at all but you could always contact an endocronologist for more help/information.

Goodluck.
