Thyroid problems

Thanks for your advise.I did see my doctor 4 wks ago.Unfortunately,I have not got copy of the results.
However,he mentioned that I have increased T4 and he told me to take 100mcg of Levothyrohine one day and 75 mcg on the 2nd day. In addition to that I was advised to take Adkal-D3 which consist of Calcium Carbonate-1500mg and Vitamin D3-400I.U. However I did see him again last week and he suggested a blood test to be done
as follows:Vitamin B12/Folate profile,Full Blood count,TFT:on T4 replacement.
Any thoughts?

A doctor who recommends B12 testing. I like the doc already. :) I'd go with the  recommended labs. Check your vitamin D levels as well to see if 400 IU is enough.

Thanks for your prompt reply.I do have B12 injections every 3 months. However in your opinion what's the best dose of Vitamin D3 to be used with Levothyroxine? What are the normal levels of vitamin D?

The vitamin D council recommendeds vitamin D serum levels between 50 - 80 ng/mL (125 - 200 nmol/L). The RDA for vitamin D is 600 IU and the upper tolerable limit is 4000 IU.  If taking above 10 000 IU of vitamin D daily, medical supervision is recommended.  The amount you need depends on your serum level.

Vitamin D has many co-factors (co-factors are "helper molecules" that help other nutrients become active and functional) but the most important are magnesium (most important), vitamin K, vitamin A, zinc, boron.  As vitamin D is a fat soluble vitamin, this supplement is best to be taken with a meal containing fat.

Thanks. Most helpful info.I'm waiting for my blood test results.
I wonder if Amour thyroid is better then Levothyroxine.
It's strange that Levothyroxine used to work for me until 3years ago when I started to take Bisoprolol-5mg in addition to Valsartan-160 mg for highBP
