I just received my results from nuclear medicine thyroid single uptake on a solid, smoothly circumscribed, mildly hyperbolic oval nodule measuring 0.9 x 0.5 x 0.6 cm. The 12-hour uptake (actually taken at 11 hours) was 17.7%. No hot or cold nodules were seen. Considering I have difficulty breathing and swallowing, is it possible to have it surgically removed with having to have an FNA? It seems that I keep getting referrals for test after test but no action. Now I am scheduled for upper GI series. My primary was upset I asked for referral to surgeon instead of dropping the matter regardless of my Vitamin D level being 12.5, extreme fatigue, and total body muscle aches.
