I get the Puffy...before being diagnosed with thyroid disease.
I was convinced I had a tooth abcess, even though dentist didnt think so...so I had a filling, then a root filling, then I said take tooth out....the eye continued to be swollen puffy, I was then convinced it was the next tooth....same again, till I had tooth out...now with 3 teeth missing (which I hate) I still have the puffy eye, but I think now I can relate it to the tyroid disease....still tempted to have the next tooth out just incase...but friends keep talking me out of it!
While looking on the internet for thyroid disease info I came across this Pettition.

I'm not familiar with eltroxin - is it a form of levothyroxine? In my opinion it may be the armour causing some of the problems - the ratio of T3/T4 in armour is not the same as what is naturally made by our bodies. Perhaps a straight T4 med (levothyroxine) plus a separate T3 replacement (like cytomel) would be better so that you can regulate each of them separately. Also, has your doctor tried you on a beta blocker? It's not uncommon for people who are hyper to have racing heart rates (or people who have gone too high on their replacement doses). A beta blocker might be a great way to prevent the racing heart & allow you to stay on the doses you need to be therapeutic. A final question - is your doctor a general practitioner or an endocrinologist? My #1 suggestion for people with thyroid problems is to get an endocrinologist and one that treats LOTS of thyroid patients (many see mostly diabetic patients). It often takes a few tries to find a good one that listens to patients and is willing to dose based upon symptoms as well as lab levels. I hope this helps.
