Thyroidectomy or Radioactive Iodine Ablation?

I'm over a year into my journey with Graves' Disease/Hyperthyroidism and it's finally come to the point where we know remission isn't an option. At first I wanted to do the RAI but I'm no longer sure after reading comments from other people who have done it. I'd like opinions on whether you'd recommend surgery or RAI and please feel free to tell me your own experience with them. Anything helps, I only have a couple of days to make my decision.

RAI is not recommended if you have bulging eyes and the volume of your thyroid is over 50 ml
