Have chronic cough for about 6 years. Tried asthma ruled out, GERD ruled out. Was on inhalers, no effect (if anything made it worse). Morning coughing the worse...almost to the point of throwing up. Get unexplainable coughing spasms, like my spit goes down the wrong way. Have 3.5 inch thyroid nodule causing hyperthyroidism but End. Dr. and ear nose throat surgeon both say the thyroid problems (even a nodule that size) do not cause coughing. Tomorrow I go for RAI treatment to shut down nodule. Fed up with coughing as extremely antisocial. Cough Syrup/lozengers don't work. Worried now with RAI treatment that I will cough and pose risk to others. 1. Should I wear a mask for a while after RAI treatment? 2. Can all surfaces in my home become contanimated, if I touch them after RAI treatment? 3. Dr. says home isolation for only 48 hrs but all internet forums and info says min 5 days. I work as receptionist, opening mail for others etc. and worry about risk to others. Any suggestions??
Good to hear that I am not alone. I mean I can just be laying there and I get this cough that is a tickling feeling. And I cant cough to fullest capacity because it hurts! I try drinking something and it helps alot, but quite annoying!! I guess I get nervous about infection or pnemonia...
I had my TT on 3/11 and I'm still coughing for no apparent reason every little while. My surgeon said it was not unusual. I'm still getting a lot of air bubbles, too. I think she thought that was a little more unusual, but she didn't really address. I get both of these at odd moments, not after a specific activity.)
I had my surgery end of November 07 and STiLL get the occasional tickle in my throat. I'd say its all normal.
