What do you mean tongue spasms?
I haven't had any problems with that, but I saw a picture someone submitted of an enlarged tongue, due to hypothyroidism.
Hi, I don't get tongue spasms, but I do get very sore gums and teeth. But I have been told this can be due to fluctuating female hormones too as I am in the menopause also. Peggy64 is also right, you can get an enlarged tongue if you're hypothyroid, sometimes it's possible to see indentations along the edges of your tongue where your teeth dig into it because it's enlarged.
It's me that has the enlarged tongue. My thyroid has been treated for 9 months now, but my tongue is still fat!
I get muscle spasms all over my body, but not my tongue.
Sore gums could be a sign of b12 deficiency.
I get muscle spasms all over my body, too. They are not painful but very annoying, especially while I am trying to sleep (I'm sure you could relate). It wasn't until just yesterday that my tongue spasmed for just a few seconds and then it went away. I wonder how this could be connected to thyroid problems? I may be hypo and will get tested again to find out why and all that good stuff. Hope everything works out for you!
I have an enlarged tongue that leaves marks of my teeth on it, as well as "burning tongue" syndrome. Anyone else? I can eat only bland foods....carbonation, toothpaste, mouthrinse, salty or spicy foods kill me!! I am also Hypo. Never knew that could be the cause. Always thought maybe my other health issues or medication may have caused it.
I have just the enlarged tongue with tooth indentations. See my photo.
What meds are you on?
What happened to your problems? Did you ever get them solved? I have small tremors all over my body and I also get tongue spasms, even lip spasms/cramps. Thank you.
