Too much Synthroid too quickly

I had the radioactive iodine tx. a few years ago due to Graves and as of lately have been very bad at taking my synthroid.  I had a TSH done last week and it was 136.  Yesterday, I started taking my synthroid again but went right back to my usual dose of 175.  Today I feel not so good: anxious, hot, headache, diarrhea, short of breath (anxiety), didn't sleep well last night.  I'm thinking it's because of the blast of TSH I received from the synthroid.  Does that sound right?  If so, I assume I should taper up to the 175 dose?  Does anyone know how long these symptoms will last?  I feel miserable and am so mad at myself for my negligence!  Any help is appreciated. My M.D. is out today, so thought I'd start here.

You've basically given your body a 'hit'.
The body cannot function properly with irregular doses of T4 meds.
You know that its important to keep the T4 at a steady level and you wouldnt be feeling too good with a TSH thta high either.
You have starved your body of a hormone that it needs to make 'everything' function properly and a T4 med does take time to absorb into your system so that it evens everything out.
I cannot tell you what dosage you should take but i do think you should take more care of yourself by taking your meds.

I know its not easy taking meds for the rest of your life and as much as we would all like to go through life without taking them,.....we all know thats impossible.

I would call your Doc in the morning or even present yourself at the ER of a hospital as your TSH is pretty high and does need to be monitored to get yourself back on track.
Usually when meds are stopped..the usual regime is to start from scratch with a small dose but by you doing this, you are allowing your TSH to go even higher.
I think maybe you should get hold of a Doc in the morning to get back on an even keel and get back into the routine of taking your meds.
I hope you feel better soon.
