Ultra TSH?

DLA
Is there a difference between our TSH and an Untra TSH?  This was done in India.  The level was 2.11.      ~~Dac

The 3rdGeneration TSH = Ultra TSH = TSH.

Here is a link explaining it:

http://www.questdiagnostics.com/hcp/intguide/jsp/showintguidepage.jsp?fn=CAP_AppTSH.htm

Look at the 1st paragraph specifically.

Not all labs will state "3rd generation or ultra" as is the only TSH test in use now. It replaced the older 1st and 2nd generation tests.

Well, this person says they had it done in a clinic in India last week.  So I guess I'll assume it's the same thing.

What?  You don't like my kitty kat?  Whahahaaaaaaaaaa

You are one scary looking cat!

When I Google "ultra TSH", I get a bunch of ads for self test kits.

"The DELFIA TSH ultra assay sets a standard for other 3rd generation kits to match."

I always wonder what "3rd generation TSH" means, too.
I just get the "regular" TSH test, which I assume is the awesome new 3rd generation test, but the lab doesn't have space to print "3rd generation" on the paper. :)
