You're right, other than the horrific camera experiane the visit went pretty well. Thanks for the birthday wishes :) Have a GREAT week!
Other than that horrible nostril camera, it sounds like a good post-op visit. It must feel great to have that behind you and be able to look forward to a fun weekend celebration!
Happy early birthday to you, and here's to a year of no thyroid complaints and great med levels! Health and happiness!
I had to have it done too, but only because I had nerve trauma and my vocal cords weren't moving. It was definitely NOT fun, but one word of advice.....don't EVER have it done if you are getting or have a cold. I was starting one the last time I had it done, and I had tears rolling down my cheeks and was begging him to take it out. It was awful. I sure wish I would have postponed that one.
I hate that scope! I have had it twice since surgery. My endo NEVER mentioned anything about something being shoved up my nostril and down my throat prior to my post-op appointment. In fact, when I went to the first post-op he told me he was going to look at my throat so (like you would think) I opened my mouth, "OH NO" he says, "We're going through the nostril". EWWW!!!!
I have never had the scope - pre or post op. My doc checked my vocal chords with something that looked like an elongated dental tool. Held my tongue, looked down my throat, and it was all done. Easy!

Oh please don't tell me I need that scope after surgery. My surgeon also didn't mention having to do it and frankly my skin is crawling just thinking about it. OUCH!!!
Hopefully the time waiting for the blood work to come back will go by quick (surprised it would take that long(?)).
I hope your ordeal is nearly over too. Happy upcoming birthday!
I have had that scope one too many times, but because I had a grape size cyst in my throat. Do they do the scope after having surgery to see how things were going? My surgeon never mentioned this to me.
