Weight Loss, Weight Gain

I've asked several times if weight gain is an effect of thyroid disorder.  I've been told 'no' that eating to much is the problem.  I am on Levoxyl 125 mcg daily and have been for over 12years.  I was 160 and am now 235.  I do not want to gain more and since March have been on 1400 calorie - 50% Carb 30% Protien 20%fat diet.  .... I've lost 15 pounds........ and I exercise 35 minutes of cardio daily.   So what else can be done?

Last thyroid labs well within range and I'm not type 2 diabetic. I live with a type 1 diabetic so testing is not a problem. Though his insulin took him to a weight of 400 lbs.  Hubby had a gastric bypass and is now 200.

Adrenal fatigue....... never heard of that.

All which I'm sure is costly and I am uninsured.

Thank you for your posts,

What are your last thyroid labs?   Many thyroid patients are also Type II diabetic - you should have an A1C and, perhaps, a glucose tolerance test too.

You should probably have your adrenals checked.  Adrenal fatigue has the same symptoms of thyroid disease including weight gain.  Have your DHEA and cortisol levels checked next time you have a blood test.
