I have the same problem! My Dr says that I am "clinically"
fine. Most Drs. don't want to try to treat your symptoms, they just want you to believe you are ok. I have asked to be referred to a endocrinoligist
one who specializes in Thyroid disease. There are other medicines for thyroid disease that are not synthetic, I don't think Drs. recommend them because the pharmaceutical company's don't benefit. Call me a skeptic, My mom was treated with Armour "real" hormones for her hypothyroidism and she felt great.
They have since changed her to synthetic hormones, telling her that Armour isn't available anymore! She has gained weight and is tired even tho her numbers are in the "normal" range.
My Dr. would not change me to Armour, she told me that maybe an endocrinoligist would.
I also have bouts of depression, she gave a script for anti-depressants.
Depression is a symptom of Hypothroidism. I don't need anti depressants I need answers.
I will let you know how the visit with the endocrinologist comes out!
What is your most recent TSH and free t4?
The TSH needs to brought down to around 1, no more than 2 once you are on meds.
Just being the normal range of the lab is not good enough. (My mother is in this situation and won't ask the doc to up her meds. She feels unwell at a TSH of 3.7)
