Is an MRI with uptake a good test to have even if you dont have nodules?
I had an MRI when they caught mine by accident and they didn't look at all of it.. I haven't had an MRI since.. I've had a sonogram then a fna when they were tryin to figure out if it was cancerous or not.. point is that u don't need an MRI.. post ur results and go from there
I had a draw done today. One thing that is weird is that my lady at quest said that my veins looked the best they ever looked today. She said that she always had a problem getting blood from me. I've been off meds for16 days. I still feel like junk but the attacks are slowing down.
I'm going to post my results. Thank you
I know but if it's a tool that will lead me closer I'll do it
An MRI is a diagnostic tool - it will not make you better.
I'm not worried about the cost. I just want to get better
I think she may have used the wrong medical term with MRI. A "thyroid uptake" scan can be something like that.
I agree with red - an ultra sound/sonogram will determine if you have nodules, inflammation, etc. MRI would be ordered if there were something suspicious. It's very expensive.
TSH, Free T3, Free T4 are the tests your doctor should routinely order. You've already had antibody tests and been diagnosed with Hashimoto's, so there's no need to do those again. You would only need an annual ultra sound to make sure nothing is changing with the nodules.
Didn't we answer this in one of your other posts, Bruce?
MRI is only done if the doctor suspects something more serious, it is also expensive!!!!
