Why do I have constant lump feeling in my throat?

I was diagnosed with goiter/multinodular thyroid a couple of years ago.  I have had TSH levels check regularly and see a specialist and ENT every 6 months.  I had an U/S and it showed one cyst.  Then, one year later I had almost 16 cysts and one was 18 mm.  I had a biopsy done on the one that was 18 mm and it was benign.
I have noticed these last few weeks, it feels like I have something stuck in my throat and I have pain with swallowing.  My voice is a bit hoarse.  Should I have another U/S or see the specialist again? Will it just keep getting worst to were I have to have thyroid removed? I am only 31 and would like to keep it as long as possible.  My TSH levels are low, but not low enough to be on Synthroid.
Thanks,
Nicki

How long since you last saw your specialist? If more than 6 months, it may be time for a visit.

hi Nicki,

i also have a multinodular goitre and suffer with the feeling of a lump in throat which affects my swallowing at times, i also suffer from an aching pain in my throat, the feeling of the lump is due to pressure from the nodules on the eosophagus, if this has come on recently maybe you need to see you're doc again incase it's increased in size. or maybe it's just moved slightly. i think if it's def benign then treatment depends on whether you can put up with the feeling or not, for me it's a big lump (see pics on my profile) and the feeling is unbearable at times, alos i got a indeterminate FNA so having it removed.

Good luck, let us know how you get on!
