a complex solid and cystic mass in the left side of the neck

I would like to thank you first for your advice. I happen to have this tender  swelling on my lower left neck I don't have any pain at all and after waiting for two weeks I go to the urgent care and they test my blood and my chest(x-ray) everything comes normal so they send me directly to ER for CT scaning test and I did that, they came up with this result:
There is a complex solid and systic mass in the left side of the neck, the cystic component measures 2.7 by 2.4 cmcontinuous and slightly more inferiorly on the other image , predominatley solid component measures 2.4 by 2.4 cm. And this mass is immediatly deep to the left sternocleidomastoid muscle. this could represent a complex brachial cleft cyst. A necrotic lymph node or other neoplasm cannot be excluded however. this is how they wrote it and the Dr send me for further testing which is going to be next week but until then I am really so worried please someone help what this leads to. thank you.

I have 2 complex solid masses on the side of my head just in front of my ear . I have had this mass since I was 18 yr old. The other mass is on the right side of my skull it's about the size of half an egg ,this mass is only 6 months old. I did have a ct. scan and my Dr. Said both had to be removed. I am 71 yr old male. I do have an appointment with a surgeon to remove both . Is there anything else I need to know about masses like I have?

From the description of where your masses are located, it doesn't sound like they're thyroid related.  You should check with your surgeon or other doctor to get further information.  If if were me, 1) I would want to know exactly what these masses are; 2) exactly what type of procedure will they be doing to remove them; 3) will they be doing them both at once?  4) what can I expect after surgery in regards to pain level, activity, healing/recovery time, etc.

I am also going through this same thing except mine is painful. I had an FNA which showed follicular cells so now I am having surgery to remove the left lobe and test for cancer. Let me know how yours goes.
