If you have Hashimotos, then your TSH should be suppressed to a .5-1.0. If your level is any higher than this you are being under treated and won't get any better.
I agree with Peggy that your docs are a little confusing...I think they are confused. :)
What are your Free T3 and Free T4 levels??  Maybe you have a conversion problem as well.....you won;t know though unless they test you. You will not get better unless they supress your tsh levels properly because of the hashi's.
Have they ever run an AM Free Cortisol test on you for your adrenals??
Also....did you ever have an ultra sound done on your thyroid?? Nodules in many cases can't be felt but are there on the scan.

This is really a confusing situation.  It appears he had an ultrasound done,( goiter with no nodules,) no nodules means there are no spots on there.

Don't even worry about the weight at this point. You need to get better physically.

I'm thinking he is changing meds, because he does not know what else to try.

I am also wondering if the surgery is for the goiter? Is it so large, that you can't wait to see if it will shrink?

I'm sorry about all these questions, just trying to get the picture here. I know it is more than frustrating when you are dealing with this disease, and no one seems to know what to do. You are doing the right thing by reaching out to others. You have to be your own advocate.

Also do all the research you can on the treatment of goiters, so you can see what your options are. That is what I would do, find out what my options are.

oh  sorry all that was in my discussion. I am new to this any way this is how it read:
Hi, I have been going for test for about a year now. I have seen two different endo doctors. The first told me I have a goiter, but my levels where good. and he would see me in a year. Went back  and he checked tsh it was  first time it was 2.25 and the next time it was 3.43 and he said it was normal see me in a year. So I talked to PCP and they sent me to a diferent endo doctor.
symptoms:
Fatigue
Weakness
Weight gain and can not lose it for anything
dry hair
Dry skin
Hair loss
Cold intolerance (but have a few hot flashes)
Constipation
Depression and Irritability (first they said bipolar disorder)
Memory loss
Abnormal menstrual cycles I have PCOS
I get chocked if i yell or strain my voice
It feels if my swollow is stuck sometimes.
my weight has been 103/182/135/210 I feel like a rollercoster. now it will not come off for anything........

So the new endo doctor said my levels where ok but he put me on levothroxne 2 tabs of 75 mcg daily
he said the goiter does not have any nodules. what ever that means??? and he would see me in six mouths. it has been three and i do not feel any better and the weight still will not go any where....
can anyone explian or tell me what i need to talk to him about next time?????

first he add cytomol 10 mg and up my levothroxne to 200 mg now this time he gave me the armour. he did tell me I had Hashimoto's. and levels this time was tsh 3.65 that is the only test he took. I am going to a endo clinic and now my PCP said I need to get the oppion of a Surg. that appt is july 15. but I wanted to know if about this med. amd if it has worked before I have the last option Surg.
