autoimmune thyroid and tmd

Okay, i dont know where to start but I recently got diagnosed with autoimmune thyroid and more recently TMD. with the autoimmune thyroid, the doctor said it would take 8-18 months to get it just to hypo thyroid which I had before and was short lived. I was also put on a wheat free diet because he said the autoimmune thyroid and the wheat was causing inflammation which is in my brain (forgot to mention that earlier). I need help and advice, I have so much pain and so much going on all at once. my jaw hurts and I know that is from the TMD because the disk is jammed, but I am having soooo much pain in my throat and in my neck along with headaches (also with chronic migraines and taking meds for that), my throat is swollen but no goiter or anything just swollen and it makes it hard to breathe at night when I am laying down. I just dont know if it is a combination of things or if the autoimmune thyroid can cause that much pain.

Hypothyroidism is a cause of TMJ dysfunction. Magnesium deficiency can also cause or worsen TMJ dysfunction and is also a well noted cause of migranes. Hypothyroidism can lead to low or deficient magnesium levels.

What is TMD , is that TMJ? If so I hear it can be painful & cause all sorts of headaches & jaw pain, especially when eating.

My throat never had pain due to my toxic goiter & it was huge at the time, it was the only reason I discovered it was my thyroid.

I don't know what you mean by autoimmune thyroid? Did he mean you have hyper/hypo/hashi's? Did he do any blood work.

I don't what you mean by inflammation in the brain due to thyroid.
