can someone confirm my symptoms please i suspect thyroid

Damn it's hard to type for me atm, but i'll try to focus

here is everything chronologically

-3 months ago i had some back pain and kidney pain, and felt really crappy due to working long hours on my computer and also EXTREMELY stressed because of work/life issues
-went to doctor with host of symptoms including, urinating frequently, irregular bowel, pain in the center of back etc (i thought it was pancreatitis tbh)
-leukocites in urine were high, they gave me antibiotics
-after taking those, i felt like i was going to die, general weakness, dark circles around eyes, serious depression, coughing a lot, sinus infection (i have nasal polyps)
-stopped smoking and drinking alcohol and coffee
-couple months prior to problems i had some swelling in my neck but ignored it - now there is no swelling or pain
-things got slightly better over few weeks period
-tried to start running and excersising, which caused me to have choking cough attacks after running few laps, despite having energy in my body, i felt fatigued after not being able to breathe
-cough out lots of yellow phlegm after excersise, often for two hours, and feel weak and exhausted after
-another round of antibiotics this time for lungs as this was the easiest fix-all solution for my doctor
-sinusitis got better, but everything else got worse
-started coughing all the time - mostly clear phlegm out of my throat but waking up with slightly yellow buildup in throat
-phlegm has metallic taste, although there is less and less of it every day, i do feel scratching and itching inside my back upper part of back/throat, also some small pain/pressure while coughing
-no taste/smell - for random short periods i do feel them
-i'm very nervous, easily explode
-my heart rate all of the sudden goes insanely up but then reduces to normal
-depressed most of the time
-i can't recall stuff from my memory easily
-fatigue generally, especially after meal
-sleepy/brain fog most of the day
-i'm a dj with loads of gigs, and now when i remember i'm supposed to play this weekend i get big adrenaline rush by just thinking about it
-can't sleep but very tired
-when i went to doctor i couldn't remember half of my symptoms
-did some blood test, my TSH level is 5.3
-when i wake up suddenly i instantly start sneezing, coughing and need to have bowel movement
-right now, all the initial symptoms are gone (kidneys and back are normal, flu-like symptoms, urinating often, even bowel function seems ok) but i feel like going crazy. lungs xray is normal.
-i feel like last week i was more "down" while now i'm getting more tense and anxious.
-symptoms seem to worsen when i cough, also sometimes it feels like i'm going to faint after coughing, and i look very pale, and black circles around eyes seem more emphasized

If anyone had anything similar please give me some guidelines, because i'm quite ready to start taking some antipsychotics and antidepressants.
today my doctor called me hypochondriac, i felt like i could hit her in that moment. very strange for me, i'm a very calm and rational person.
i'm sorry for any typos, and for the long rant.
thank you in advance for your opinions.
M.

I hope you got FREE T3 and FREE T4, not just T3 and T4; they aren't the same thing.  If not specified FREE, the tests will be for Total T3 and Total T4, which are considered obsolete and of little value.

If you don't think you can get the antibody tests now, it would have been better to get those first, because if you have Hashimoto's, symptoms and antibodies often show up long before TSH, FT3 and FT4 indicate an issue.

Will look forward to seeing your results tomorrow.  Be sure to post reference ranges, with results, since ranges vary lab to lab and have to come from your own report.

I'm happy to hear that you are feeling better as each day goes by; apparently, you had something else that was making you feel badly.

I still believe you should get further thyroid tests, since your TSH is high and so are your FT levels.

Please do keep us posted on new developments.

i do have some yellow discharge out of sinuses too, but only in the morning, i always thought this was normal with polyps condition, as airways are narrowed so it builds up? After my last polyp fess surgery (3 years ago) i've been discharge free for the most part, until polyps grew back.

I'm not on any kind of thyroid medication. I'm taking only Aerius for allergies now (allergies to nothing particular- dustmites etc).
I'll ask my ent doctor if it is possible to get those other tests.
If not I'll see if it can be done in some private clinic.
Just for the record I stopped taking my  corticosteroid nasal spray about 10 days ago and i've stopped coughing out yellow stuff, and i would dare to say i'm improving a lot in all regards except what i wrote yesterday (dry cough and some fatigue).
I know that because i've been running today and haven't had choking cough attack after. I'll go running every day now to be sure if it's really gone.

I'll schedule appointment with my doctor but I'l probably have to wait, unless I get worse again.

Subjectively, I'm better every day.
bowel and urinary function is now normal, my mind is clearer, and haven't been coughing out scary yellow stuff after which i would feel like fainting.
also i have good apetite.

I can't thank you enough for your attention and advices, and I'll keep you updated every time I find out something new.

Anti-transglutaminase antibodies are markers for celiac disease, which is an allergy to gluten. Not sure why they're testing that, except some of your stomach issues could be related.

I don't understand why they didn't test for thyroid antibodies as I mentioned above, though.

Yes, you're right the FT's mean Free T3 and Free T4.  Are you on a thyroid replacement medication? Your levels are just about perfect, with FT3 at 78% of its range and FT4 at 56%; of course, that FT3 might be too high for you.

It's unusual to have a high TSH, with relatively high FT3/FT4.

Can you get the thyroid antibody tests?  Those would confirm/rule out Hashimoto's and if you get the TSI, as well, that would confirm/rule out Graves.

I get severe sinus symptoms with my hashimoto diagnosis (yellow discharge, has been tested and not positive for infection).  I have hashi/graves combo which has both hyper and hypo swings.  However, even hashi alone can cause both anxiety and depression.  Similar symptoms that I have also include: cold all of the time, brain fog, fatigue, frequent urination.  Your tgab can be an indicator of hashi (mine= 1843 range<40 I think) but tpoab should also be checked and just in case you have grave too have tsi checked.  I, too, and most others on here have been labeled a hypochondriac.  It's BS!  Ignore the label and demand the tests.   Good luck and as barb said keep us posted!  Ps:  hyper swings of thyroiditis  can cause low WBC.  Antibiotics also lower WBC which may be why they make you feel worse.  Back when I didn't know my sinuses were related to my thyroid, I got very ill trying to see if antibiotics would cure my sinusitis.

Hi

I got results for:

FT-3   5,99    ref.interval 3,1 - 6,8

FT-4  17,60   ref.interval 12-22

I believe this means free T3 and free T4.

I'm having slightly less brain fog last few days but still fatigue easily and lose breath if i talk a lot. Also I'm having some burning sensation/pressure in the middle of my trachea, and in the middle of back around the same height or slightly lower with also some itching feeling on skin above described areas - after coughing.
I took some xanax before sleep last few days because i was unable to sleep much and i assume this was making me anxious and depressed, i feel much better in this regard now.

I'm awaiting for one more test result, my ent asked for this to exclude it when i showed up with initial symptoms
its called Anti-transglutaminase antibodies i believe, i will post that as well as soon as i get it.

Hi and thank you.
I've been in lab today for T3 and T4, results will be tomorrow. I'm not sure if i can get those other tests because my doctor doesn't believe me. especially if todays tests come out fine.
I am getting slightly better every day but this probably has a lot to do with quitting smoking.
When I look back I've had similar problems for last 10 years but not so intense I suppose. I had anxiety disorder which is now under control but for 3 or 4 years I was on zoloft therapy.

Is TSH the only thyroid test you had done?  Yours is higher than recommended, even though it might fall within your lab's "normal" range.

You should also have Free T3 and Free T4 tests done.  Those are the actual thyroid hormones.  Free T3 correlates best with thyroid symptoms.

I don't think the coughing, sneezing, frequent urination, etc are thyroid related, but some of your other symptoms are, such as fatigue, brain fog, constipation, feeling cold, difficulty sleeping, depression, etc.

Can you get the Free T3 and Free T4 tests?  You might also ask to get tested for Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, which is an autoimmune thyroid disease that gradually destroys the thyroid so it doesn't produce thyroid hormones.   The antibody tests you need are Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies (TPOab) and Thyroglobulin Antibodies (TGab).  You might also want to get a thyroid ultra sound to check for nodules, swelling and/or inflammation.
