Hi barb , thanks for your time , I read in a food book years ago that people with thyroid issues. , well their liver doesn't get rid of cholestrol the way it should. Iv been on all the statins , even ezetrol when all other statins fail ,I'm on a good diet and I work out well. After being in hospital last year with diverticulitis I fine tuned my diet. Will get more bloods done this week so I can compare cholestrol with test before taking armour and will let you know. Plus I will send you thyroid tests. Untill then , over and out.
Thanks for that barb. So is the high cholestrol down to hormones. And have you any idea why statins don't lower mine.
Armour's function is to provide hormones that your thyroid can no longer produce. Armour has no "direct" effect on cholesterol; and does nothing for liver function.
High cholesterol is very common with hypothyroidism. Perhaps you need an increase in your Armour, in order to bring hormone levels back to normal, which may have a normalizing effect on cholesterol levels.
If you have current thyroid labs, please post them, so members can better assess your testing treatment. Be sure to include reference ranges, which vary lab to lab and have to come from your own report.
Everyone reacts differently to medications, maybe you need to try a different one? I keep my cholesterol pretty much in check via exercise. That's walking for a minimum of an hour/day, plus other physical activity.
Do you have current thyroid test results you could post? That would allow us to give other suggestions, as to a cause for the problem. Be sure to include reference ranges for any labs posted.
