cytomel and skin rash

Just started the Cytomel and synthroid three days ago. This morning I had  few red spots on my chest. It could be nothing but has anyone had a skin rash with cytomel before? The insert says it is RARE but how rare? When should I worry? It's hardly anything.

I would definitely pay attention to any rash.  I have been on synthyroid for years and because of a comment I made to my doctor about feeling low on energy, we switch my regular medication routine to include cytomel.  What a mistake -

Within 3 days I noticed a rash, by day five it was causing sever grief in several areas of my body - the wrists, thighs and around my vagina.  I have been miserable.

Called doctor and 2 days ago took myself off cytomel.  The rash still persists, rages is a better words to describe it.

Unfortunately the manufacturer plays down the "rash" in the paperwork that accompanies the drug.  But the rash is real and very unpleasant.

I'm not sure what to do at this point about eliminating it from my body or how long I must endure the horrible itching and scratching.

Good luck, seriously watch it!!

I started taking cytomel when I was hospitalized last Feb with meningitis.  I never had a problem with cytomel, it did help me with my depression.  I am on the max of synthroid and for the past 13 mo, I have endured 19 surgeries and 5 life threatening infections.  My thyroid levels are so bad and I have had so many horrible symptoms.  I will tell you that I purchased 2 books that were so helpful, the Thyroid Solution and Thyroid and Depression, both books are fantastic.  I also got Thyroid for Dummies, another good resource book.
I would definitely call your pcp as you may be allergic to a chemical within the drug.
Good luck.

I wouldn't worry unless it gets worse.  It could be from other things, also.  Contact MD if it persists or gets worse.
