Not sure how long you have been on the anti-thyroid meds here but in most cases surgery will be the last - or not denied option for just a hyperthyroid condition.
You may want to research RAI. That is more commonly done for this.
Also there are many ways of controlling the disease and research is your best tool to learn everything out there that could help you. A combination of therapies could help too.
Stress levels, diet, correcting deficiencies, to name only a few can alter bad function and help restore some normal patterns again.
i am on medication now and my gp will recommend an endo for me on my next visit..hope the medication will work for me...i am taking 5 mg carbimazole 2 tablets twice a day..i am so nervous and hopefully surgery is the last option
Well I am Graves as well as Hashimoto.
Still whats the question regarding surgery? Did someone say you can remove the thyroid and Graves will be fixed?
hi stella,

If you don't mind. I see you posts starts out as Graves Disease and you are looking for a surgeon?
While I would have to do some checking around on this can you post the reason for the removal? - Is it for Graves disease?
