hashimotos?

I have had thyroid problems all of my life.  The levels have gone up and down since I was 14.  I recently took a blood test.  My tsh levels were 70.3.  Antibodies over 1000.  I am learning that this could be hashimotos.  Are there natural treatments?  I am seeing an acupunturist and I am waiting a call back from my physician.  Are natural treatments legitimate? Is it really treatable?

I tried to do the natural route with supplements and accupuncture....I got much worse. If i hadnt been afraid of going on thyroid meds and had started when my dr wanted me too....I probably wouldn't have gotten so sick. It has been a long hard road because of it. At least look into Armour which is natural thyroid med....you need to be medicated before the hashi's reaks havok on your body. Your TSH level needs to be brought down to a .50-1.0 with hashis in order for your body to start healing....per my endocrinologist. I was on synthroid for 2 yrs before switching to armour. There are many diff meds out there.

You need to see an MD and get on a thyroid hormone replacement drug now. Then more tests can be ordered as required.

Hashimoto's is autoimmune. It is treatable and it can be controlled, but it is cannot be cured. In your case, supplements and vitamins may help, but natural remedies are not going to cut it.
