Hopefully, you have had your appt by now and have more info. I hope your doc didn't just put it down to stress again. If so, you should think about finding another.
Let us know how you turn out....
I am not on any medication. I have been having just horrible dizziness and a fog like
feeling in my head. I also have been having PVC s (pulminary vintricular contractions)
for the past 11 months. Heart checked fine, doc said stress. I had one bout of vertigo in nov. ever since then dizzness started. I havent felt right since. I also get a whole body heaviness. But because of the ear fullness primary doc sent me to ENT
he did the blood work to anything else out. He thinks Meineres disease. I havent felt
right in months. I am worried primary doc will just say stress again. Thanks so much
for any helpful advice. My appointment is tomorrow. I will ask for further bloodwork.
I wish they had done Free T3 rather than Total -- that really doesn't tell much because there's no way of knowing how much of it might be bound by proteins and unavailable for use. Even still the result is in the lower part of the range and with your T4 being high, I can't help wonder whether you might have a conversion issue going on, meaning you aren't properly converting T4 to T3 so the body can use it.
But then looking at it again, it doesn't say whether that is Free Thyroxine (T4) or Total also.
Is there any way you can get your doctor to run Free T4 and Free T3? Those are the ones that will really tell what's going on. Testing for Totals is pretty much obsolete these days. If you can't get the proper tests, I'd strongly suggest that you look for another doctor. If you are still having bad symptoms, most likely you are still hypo, in spite of the "nice looking" TSH. It appears that your doctor may be dosing you based on the TSH and I'm sorry to say that will leave you headed for disaster.
Are you currently on thyroid med? If so, what kind/dosage? I'm wondering if you might need a touch of a T3 med added, but there's no way of knowing that without Free T3 and Free T4 results.
I wish I had a nickel for every time I had a doctor tell me my symptoms were caused by stress and try to shove antidepressants at me........That's the easy way out for THEM, but of course, leaves us feeling lousy because the antidepressants always made ME more tired that I was to begin with.............
