Just so it is clear, we're not doctors here, just fellow thyroid patients trying to help out. With your test results most doctors would probably say that you're "normal" and thyroid is not your problem. Regarding those test results, you should be aware that the range currently recommended for TSH, by the AACE, is .3-3.0. Although your TSH is still within the upper limit of that range, TSH is a pituitary hormone that is affected by many variables, including the time of day when blood is taken for testing. TSH is only an indicator, to be considered along with the most important indicators which are symptoms and the levels of the actual biologically active thyroid hormones, which are FT3 and FT4. FT3 correlates best with hypo symptoms, so it would be very informative for you to get tested for FT3 and FT4, rather than total T3 and total T4.
From what I remember of your prior post, weight gain was only one of your possible hypo symptoms. Taking those into account, along with what test data you have, I would not be surprised to see that your FT3 and FT4 were in the lower end of their ranges, indicating a hypo condition that would benefit from thyroid medication.
I suggest that you read this article and discuss with your doctor and then get the FT3 and FT4 testing done and if results are as I expect, in the lower part of their ranges, then push your doctor for at least a therapeutic trial of thyroid meds.
It sounds as though you might be trying to ask your question of the doctor. You have reached the patient forum. We are all patients just like you.
