Yes you definitely need to see an endocrinologist soon.   Are you having any symptoms like shakiness, increased heart rate or increased blood pressure, pounding heart, unexplained weight loss or no weight loss  but increased appetite? Be proactive ..don't wait because symptoms do get worse....I speak from personal experience ... I just had my scan yesterday and tomorrow I start the antithyroid drugs and wean off the betablocker (was started to control my heart rate and bp).  Before all this I was healthy...or so I thought.  Good Luck :)

Multinodular goiter. "Goiter" is a term used to describe any enlargement of the thyroid gland, which can be caused by iodine deficiency or a thyroid disorder. A multinodular goiter contains multiple distinct nodules within the goiter but its cause is less clear.
Thyroid cancer. Although the chances that a nodule is malignant are small, you're at higher risk if you have a family history of thyroid or other endocrine cancers, are younger than 30 or older than 60, are a man, or have a history of radiation exposure, particularly to the head and neck. A nodule that is large and hard or causes pain or discomfort is more worrisome in terms of malignancy. This is from Mayo Clinic you need to see an endocrinologist if you are not already. A Ultra sound will let them see what they are dealing with a cyst will have no blood flow while a nodule will have blood flow you need to ask these questions. If it is Thyroid cancer it is very curable. It runs in my family at worst they usually remove the thyroid and put you on meds.  You really need to have test. Sometimes they will do a biopsy on the area.  If you are not already seeing a good endocrinologist search on the internet for one. Make sure you find one with reviews and read all the reviews this can make the difference between finding an excellent doctor that cares and one that doesn't please let me know if you have any more questions. PS your doctor should be explaining all this to you if they are not find a new one!!
