inflamed throat

Its been 6 weeks since I had my thyroid removed. I am on syntyroid 100  and everything is doing good, except I now have an inflamed throat thats draining and pretty much has caused my voice to stop working. The doctor is not sure what has caused this and put me on strong antibiotics. I also am running a slight fever and am fatiqued and faint feeling at times. For about 3 to 4 weeks after surgery everything was going good. Has anyone experainced this or know what could cause this, if its related to thyroid removal or not?

Can you get a print out of your levels?
You may just be a tad hyper on the meds.....just a thought.

I agree with you on the feeling that something is wrong, ive had that feeling for too long.  We all know our bodies, and unfortunatly everyone is different.  I wish I had answers for you and myself.  My heath issues are with  (thyroid Cancer)  and im equally as frustrated with my drs and not getting any answers.  All I can say is Ill keep you in my prayers that they find answers.  Sorry I cant be of more help.

they ran a CBC (including thyroid levels) the Endo say everything was normal. he told me to get another ultrasound. If it was still enlarged, he said to have my PCP do a CAT-Scan. they are doing nothing for the inflamed thyroid because he says there;s nothing wrong.

i know something is right, because i've never had this feeling before. the ENT went down my throat with a scope and he said eveything looked normal.

it still doesnt explain the mucus in my throat.

I had an ultrasound done and the right side of my thyroid was inflammed. it was almost 1/4 larger than the left side. i've had some weight gain, abou 20-30 lbs in a bout 2 months time.. i'm not sure what's going on.

what do you mean by thyroid issues? i would call my thyroid being enlarged an issue.

i've been having a feeling of a "lump" in my throat. I had an ultrasound and the right side of my thyroid was inflammed. The to the ENT and Endo. Both ran test including CBC, T4, etc.. and everything was normal. i've been having the feeling of mucus in my throat. mucus has been coming up and it's clear .. not green and on some days my throat feels dry. i havent had a fever at all but have been waking up with small headaches and pressure in my around my eyes and nose. this has been gradual since june of 2009. it all started with a small tickle in the back of my throat. any ideas?

Finally went to doctor about it. My levels are all perfect but throat is inflamed inside and draining infection. Dr was'nt sure what caused it but also I can't talk half the time or little at all. He put me on a cordisone[sp] throat spray and also stronger antibiotics. He feels some sort of bactiral virus got in there. I am wondering, could it have been to tube durning surgery. Anyway the draining could cause even more serious problems due to build up in lungs, he said. Guess I will hope for the best.  Thanks for the reply

When you say swollen throat do you mean the entire throat area visible from the outside (neck)  or do you mean your throat inside is swollen and draining?  I had a TT recently and have a swollen area looks like a lump on my neck dosnt quite sound the same?  But my levels have been all over the board and my sysmptoms have not been well.  My Dr. said my lump was from a muscle.  Just some though Id share not sure if it helped or not:)
