lymph nodes

Has anyone else felt a sore (feels like strep) pain in their lymph nodes under the chin area before they had their surgery? I keep having reoccuring pain in my nodes on the side where my tumor is. Just wondered if this is common or if it indicates my cancer my have spread to the local nodes...thanks
Lisa

I had that same problem before my surgery and after my RAI and the cancer had not spread to the lymph nodes (and my papillary carcinoma was only 4-5mm).  With the size of your nodule I'm sure it is putting stress on your lymph system and/or blocking it from draining.

Regardless, you are getting it taken care of and it will be okay.
