I would just like to add my two cents to this post.

I came onsite to this board and I read responses for about two months before I actually joined.  I wrote what I thought was great information to get the help I needed.  Guess what,  they couldn't help me on my first response and we didn't have as many members as we do now.  I didn't feel bad that my question went to the last page with no responses.  I went back, read my post and realize that I didnt give enough help to help with my questions.  Once I reposted my questions with significant information.... and whala. I got quite a bit of help.

Don't give up.  I am learning every day on my own and with this site that there is a "LOT" of information on the thyroid that we just don't understand.

As someone stated earlier, that we are in a back to school time right now and everyone is extra busy and not able to visit the site.  I would rather wait for a good answer any day than a "guess" or unsure answer.

This is a great site with lots of information shared here.  I come online and read some of the post, but I don't respond because I'm not as acknowledgable as some of the others, but you better believe if its something I know, I will respond.

We are all dealing with some thype of thyroid issue and we try to help each other as best we can, but you have to help yourself as well. Go online and just search around with words that you know.  This is what I do all the time to get some of my own info.  I'm like a blood hound about this thyroid thingy now.

Should you all decide to leave, remember you are leaving a great, caring, loving, funny and helpful family.

Please do not take it personal that you do not get an answer overnight.  Wait for the correct answer or the best answer and not the guess answer.

Take care and hope to you all when I check in.

Terri
BTW: We have two great co-chairpersons and a wonderful cast....

I too, have yet to get a reply, but I am also new and I'm thinking that it will take a little while. I have been looking for answers for around 3 yrs now so that's why I''ve decided to join this group. Maybe we'll get a response soon. Just hang in there, I know how frustrating it can be. But I'm thinking that it won't take us 3 yrs. on this one.

This is a great place. We all are dealing with very trying, painful, and sometimes difficult issues and challenges that this disease brings.

I have not been on for the last week like I am normally, because I am having a very difficult time with the side effects of this disease. And feeling like doggy poo.

There is probably not a person on here that has had every post answered. Sometimes, I look at posts and don;t want to say anything because I just don't know what to say.

Look at it this way? .... . to how many posts have you responded ...

I am brand new to this forum myself.  It took a while to get responses back on my posts, however, I must admit that it took me a while before I went back and checked them.  With school starting this week I think we are all jumping through hoops right now.

I must say that EVERYONE I have spoken to has been very kind and truely cares about the health and well being of others.

Since I just found out about a thyroid csyst on Aug. 3rd I have so much to learn.  Therefore, I don't post / reply often unless I can just share  my story becuase I know nothing... that is  why I am here.  However, it is my goal to learn what I can and to remember how I feel right now so that I can be there and help someone else down the road.

Best of luck to you, I hope you stick around and maybe we can muttle this out together.

Please know that we welcome you to the community and everybody's posts are very important to all of us.  However, sometimes it is very hard to answer every post from every member .. it is a good idea if this ever happens to "bump" your post back for visibility or PM one of the Co-CL's mentioning you haven't gotten a response yet you are awaiting one.

It's been unusual for both of the co-cl's to be less active this past week or so on the community than usual; I posted a thread asking anybody to contact me via PM if their post was unanswered or needed help that I was able to lurk but had time constraints to reply to everybody and apologized.

This community has and will continue to pride itself to be a true community.  I am sorry you feel the way you do .. If, indeed, any of your postings were addressed to Dr. Lupo or were outside of the abilities/knowledge for people on the patient community to answer you may not get many responses as this is not the expert forum.

Please stick around ...yes, meet that friend or two, we are here to support the best we can as we, like you, suffer from a health condition with its ups and downs and volunteer our time to help others the best we can ...

So sorry you have both feeling this way but please, please don't leave.

I know msgs and/or responses can get lost in the shuffle due to, as stella5349 points out, the volume.  I've had that happen too.

I've also had things not get responded to at all.  When I first tried to post (back when the background was pink) noone answered my questions about parathyroid disease.  I thought maybe it was too 'out there' - which made me feel even more alone than before.  But I decided to come back and try again.  This time it was better.

Keep trying.

nanny57:  I responded to your photo.  How very cute!

You have to understand that there are so many posts and so many w\questions.

I read your situation prior to this post and you have some real issues that many are trying to piece together. The one thing not mentioned here is

What is your doctor saying?

That too would be helpful

We are a strong community and welcome everyone.  I- and this Co Leader position is strictly volunteer for me. I do this for two reasons.

1 First - I care........ and I am a people person. If I can help a person (human being) I will no matter what.

2 - I find comfort with my own thyroid questions here - and sometimes it takes time for these members to all put their heads together to give you a good (right) path to take for treatment. No one wants to "guess" when they are dealing with another person's health - even a doctor.

They fall in that order for me - Helping others - than myself.

I hope you can feel the compassion of this board and if you choose - continue to feed us the information to help you go to your doctor and get the things done to get you well. To a degree YOU also need to research information and try to put some of the pieces together too - No one will understand it all - except you.

As for your post on your labs. AR was right on with his thoughts. There is an issue of low T4 and low TSH. It is confusing - this is not within the norm and hard for the average thyroid patient to advise on

I suppose time and more information will help down the road.

I'm sorry if there has been some misunderstanding.

The first time I posted here, I got only one response and it was quite short.

I went back to your original posts. It looks like the responses weren't helpful because the members thought you were trying to reach Dr. Lupo on the Expert Forum.

Did you want advice from Dr. Lupo or us regular folks?

Your thyroid results are all good. TSH in the lower (good) end of the range and negative antibodies.

I have also notice That I havent gotten but one reply to my post. I was thinking this was because I was new to the forum. But if you havent gotten much on your posts, I dont know what is wrong. And I know how your feeling because I also have no one to actually correspond with. They say patience is a virtue.  So let us be just a little more patient and we can correspond together. I dont know anything about thyroid. I am hoping to get answers from the forum. So pass on what you hear and I will do the same.
